Hi Andrew and Rob

I have just returned from honeymoon and I just have to say a massive thank you to two very talented guys.
From the first moment I walked into your shop (having experienced other wedding shops) I knew you were the guys to make my day special.
Having told you that I hate shopping any way you both put me at ease and after only 3 dresses later I had found my dress and we had planned the design of my train jacket to be hand made at Creatiques!
Andrew and Fran came around to my house the morning of my wedding to do our hair. I can honestly say I have never felt so relaxed and happy to have such talent looking after me (including singing, dancing and so much laughing along the way).
Mark and I can not thank you enough, you all made my day from start to finish, everyone at the wedding loved my dress and thought all the hair was amazing.
Most of all though, I have gained two fantastic friends now, and I am never going any where else to get my hair done!

A simply stunning day, Jo and Mark married on the 28th April 2012, Jo wears a simply beautiful gown by Mark Lesley,the over jacket was hand beaded tulle embellished with crystal, the scalloped edge also beard with fine swarvoski crystal. Jo hair was created by Andrew at the dressing room, and the tiara was called Racheal, by Tantrums and Tiaras.

Something new
Another shop that tiptoes through the more emotional landscape of retail in Southsea has to be Creatiques, which sells couture wedding gowns and bridal accessories, and is run by Andrew and Rob Pearce just a bit further down Marmion Street. The clutch of national awards displayed on their shelves stands testament to their sensibilities and, stepping into the shop, which is bursting with billowing confections in white and cream silks and satins, sleek lines in cappuccino lace, and yet more studded with twinkling crystals, must be a joy to behold for the brides-to-be.
“We offer the personal service people crave these days,” says Rob. And they really mean that, for they will close the shop for every customer’s fittings, even up until the clock is nudging 8pm if need be.
“It’s very special,” says Rob. “It’s their big day and we take that to heart. We take a great pride in our work. Many of our customers become our friends, and we often get to help the rest of the family as well, customers’ sisters and nieces. We have even had brides leaving to get married from here,” says Andrew of the shop, which has a pretty garden at the back. “What other wedding shop could do that?”
It must all be paying off, though, for, besides the awards, like Topsy, Creatiques just keeps growing and, having moved to larger premises three times already, they are looking to upgrade again into a store just down the road.

Kimberly and Dan get married at The Kings Theatre,

IT WAS the fairytale wedding they had always dreamed of.

Happy couple Danny Salter and Kimberley Hammer said their vows in front of more than 100 guests at the Kings Theatre in Southsea yesterday.

The newlyweds got the chance to hold their special day at the historic venue by winning a competition in The News.

Danny, a teacher, and Kimberley, a massage therapist, from Baffins, Portsmouth, said the day was ‘unbelievable’.

Danny said: ‘It’s a lovely place and I wanted to get married here.

‘It’s a beautiful building and a beautiful place.

‘I was shocked when we won.

‘I’d like to give a big thank you to The News for giving us the opportunity for us to get married in this wonderful place.’

Kimberley added: ‘I was nervous before I came on stage but it was been absolutely wonderful.

‘It’s the best place to have a wedding – I want to do it all again.’

The couple said their vows on stage as guests watched from the stalls, and Kimberley’s cousin James Percy embraced the occasion by reading a passage from William Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116.

In theatrical style, rose petals fell from the ceiling and pyrotechnics fizzed from the back of the stage as they sealed their marriage with a kiss.

Kimberley’s mum Lorraine Hammer, said her daughter looked beautiful in her wedding dress, while her father Steve said he was ‘very proud’.

They hope to go on honeymoon during the Easter holidays.

Their prize included invitations courtesy of Errand Jervis, flowers from Charmaine Florist, bride hairstyling from Garbo’s Hair Salon, and a buffet reception courtesy of The Wine Vaults.

Kimberley was offered the opportunity to buy a beautiful £1,000 Justin Alexander gown from Creatiques for just £500.

The Kings Theatre’s Sandra Smith thanked The News for its support.

She said: ‘It was just like a fairytale.

‘The whole atmosphere was very warm and they have been a lovely couple to work with.

‘The Kings Theatre is such a spectacular place.

‘When they kissed, the rose petals and pyrotechnics made it very special.’

Dream location for couple’s special day

Going away to an exotic island is many people’s idea of a dream holiday – and that’s why Emily and Mark Peters decided their break in Jamaica would be the perfect time to get married.

They were planning a holiday there anyway when they realised the package they were looking at included a wedding deal.

The couple had been engaged for the past nine years and have been together for 12 years, so decided it was the right time and place to get married.

Emily, 30, and Mark, 40, who live in North End, were married on the beach at the Sandals White House European Village and Spa in Jamaica.

Emily, whose maiden name is Brett, says: ‘It was amazing. We were married at about 3pm and there was lots of sunshine. Our neighbours came too and married a couple of days after us!’

Mark, a carpenter, and Emily, a chartered accountant, will be holding a blessing in about 18 months at Rhinefield House in the New Forest.

Emily says: ‘I got my dress from Creatiques in Southsea. It was vintage lace and it was really lovely.’

Mark has three children from a previous relationship – Rhys, 15, Beth, 12, and Declan, 17.

Couple brave the cold for a chilly winter wedding

After a whirlwind romance, Charlotte Bourner and Stephen Offord set their hearts on a winter wedding.

The couple decided to marry in the cold month of February, with their wedding morning a chilly minus seven degrees Celsius.

And the adventure-loving pair even honeymooned in the Arctic Circle.

Charlotte, 32, lives with 30-year-old Stephen and their dog, Hamish, in Southsea.

Married at Holy Trinity Church, in Fareham, Stephen’s heritage meant there was a Scottish theme to the day.

Charlotte says: ‘They all had their kilts on and we had the arch of swords as we walked out. I suppose it was a little bit different!

‘We decided we didn’t want to spend a long time planning and that with the unreliable British weather, we may be luckier with a cold but sunny winter’s day – hence February’

Afterwards, the newlyweds held a reception in the ward room at HMS Excellent, Whale Island, as Stephen is in the Royal Navy.

The Scottish theme carried on, with the wedding party enjoying whisky from a traditional Quaich – a shallow two-handled drinking cup.

Charlotte, a pharmacist, says: ‘We had a Michael Buble tribute act, which isn’t really traditional but he was amazing!

‘I got my dress from Creatiques in Southsea and it was a little bit of a mix between Kate Middleton’s and Pippa Middleton’s at the Royal wedding.’

With many newlyweds heading off for warmer climates, this pair went to Stockholm and then on to Lulea in northern Sweden, before they arrived in the Arctic Circle to stay at the Ice Hotel, in Jukkasjärvi.

Charlotte says: ‘We spent a night sleeping in an ice room, gaining a diploma from them for surviving a night in the cold part of the hotel.

‘While we were there we also went skiing, went on a husky ride and on snow mobiles.
