Mrs Andy Murray…the Creatiques lowdown…

It’s been the talk of the Bridal Industry recently, ‘Who will she be wearing…?’ ‘How will she have that signature blow-dry on the day?’ ‘Will he be wearing Tartan…?’  – Yes! You’ve guessed it, we’re are of course talking about the ‘Wedding of the Year’ so far; Andy Murray and Kim Sears!

We heard on the grapevine, that Bookies were taking bets on who the designer of the dress would be, the favourites being Alexander McQueen, Justin Alexander, and Jenny Packham; all solid British Designers, all loved by the Duchess of Cambridge.

Let’s face it, The Murray wedding is potentially the closest thing to a Royal Wedding that Scotland will really see, and there’s no more regal location to host such a wedding than ‘Dunblane Cathedral’.  But of course, as with all weddings- we only have eyes for the dress!

Jenny Packham was the designer of choice for Kim Sears, who revealed a Bespoke Vintage Style Gown, hand-embroidered with Swarovski crystals on the sleeves and waistband, complete with a low cut back and gathered wrap bust. An unusual choice, yet carried off beautifully.

Mrs Andy Murray completed her Vintage-GreekGoddess-Floaty-Sparkly look with a  crystal Kalmia headdress, topped off with a three metre silk tulle veil (we bet she had fun with that in those scottish winds…) and chose a dusky pink for her bridesmaids dresses, which she subtly had mentioned in her bouquet.

The dress reminded us slightly of a couple of dresses we house in our Boutique, the “Verina’ by Maggie Sottero, with the sleeves; and the Sincerity Bridal 3830 with it’s heavy hand embroidered detail and floaty skirt.

kimsearslikeCreatiques wish the happy couple all the best!
