Bridal trends for 2017
The team at Creatiques Bridal Boutique reveal some of the exciting new bridal trends for 2017, straight from Barcelona Bridal Fashion week…

Iconic eras

The “era” of the dress is still at the forefront next season – from 50’s glamour and Hollywood red carpet, to the high-fashion influences of the 1970’s.

One trend that seems to be coming through for 2017, especially from Lillian West, was a strong feel for the 70’s – fluid chiffons overlayed in lace, with gowns having a layered boho chic look. Soft creams, whites and blushes were featured in the collection and the long chiffon cuffed sleeve of one dress particularly stood out.

Ballgowns and Hollywood glamour also featured in the new collections, with a trend for intricate beadwork and embroidery rather than full lace gowns. Ballgowns of luxury lace panels, with the use of ruffles are beautiful for that real 1950’s Hollywood look.

Simply chic

The return of the plain satin dress is so exciting, allowing brides to dress it up with separate overlays of lace, shawl neck detailing, the use of the swarvoski crystals for belting detail, and detachable straps.

There was also a trend for detachable over-trains of extreme length, adding real wow factor! These could then be removed for the evening to show a completely different look for the reception party.

Bold brides

The emphasis on colour was strong, with embroidered flowers and beadwork emphasising the depth of the flowers. Purples, reds and black all featured – not something that would be for every bride but for an alternative look this would be incredible
