Donna Backhouse always loved the film Breakfast At Tiffany’s and decided it would make the perfect theme for her dream wedding.

Donna married Mark Dorey at the Old Thorns Manor Hotel in Liphook.

Now living in Emsworth, the couple first met in December 2008 when they were both on a night out in Reading.

Mark, 30, was from Portsmouth and 34-year-old Donna lived in Hertfordshire.

She moved to the south coast in September 2010 and, less than a month later, Mark proposed.

‘He was going to propose at Christmas, but he couldn’t wait and had had the ring for a while,’ remembers Donna.

‘He got down on one knee, asked me to marry him and I said “yes”.

‘I did half expect it and thought it wouldn’t be long because I had moved down and we both wanted it.’

They soon started to plan the wedding and decided to include little touches that reminded Donna of her favourite film.

The couple couldn’t use the famous Tiffany & Co blue boxes – so they had blue and green boxes with white ribbon on the tables, with each table for the guests named after a Tiffany diamond.

Donna, who wore a dress from Creatiques in Southsea, says: ‘We gave the bridesmaids and ushers gifts with white ribbon.

‘The cake was made to look like the Tiffany boxes but they were actuallyindividual sponge cakes.’

After the ceremony, Donna and Mark made their way up to the 18th hole on the golf course to admire the lovely view from the top.

Donna adds: ‘It really was lovely. It was a bit cold but thankfully it was dry and the only way to get up there quickly was by golf buggy.

‘The day went so quickly because it was so stressful in the lead up to it.

‘It was everything I dreamed it would be, but I just wish it lasted a little bit longer!’

Donna and Mark are hoping to go on honeymoon to Cyprus for 10 days in September and both work as field sales executives.
