Julie says ‘I do’

1. Wedding date?
04/06/21
2. Wedding venue?
Ettington Park hotel, Stratford upon Avon
2a. Did your wedding plans change due to covid? If so what changed?
Luckily, we kept our original date but due to covid did have to reduce numbers by half to 30 guests.  As this was the second time around for both of us it really wasn’t a huge problem and we plan to have a party for the rest of our friends and family next year. (another chance to wear my dress).
3. Wedding photographer & florist?  How did you choose your suppliers?
Our florist and photographer were booked locally and recommended by the hotel having seen them at a wedding fare some months prior.  I think photographers charge such a lot of money so we were happy with digital prints so that we could form our own album from our favourite photos.
4. Did you have a colour scheme or theme for your day?
Navy Blue classic and classy
The Dress
5. Dress Designer?
My wedding dress designer was Sincerity in ivory and mocha and was a beautiful soft fabric skirt with a stunning lace fitted bodice which was not too restrictive.  The v neckline was more flattering for my bust and flowed really well.
6. Before visiting Creatiques did you have an idea of what style of gown you’d like? If so were you surprised by the gown you did choose?
7. Overall how was your Creatiques experience?
Rob was brilliant at knowing what styles to select which he felt would suit my shape.
8. Did you add any special touches?
Regarding special touches my friend gave me a sixpence to put in my shoe with a poem regarding the meaning and my mother had some charms made up to wear on the back of my shoes in memory of my father who sadly passed away a couple of years ago. I can’t look at these without a tear coming to my eye.
9. Do you have any advice for bride’s planning their big day? In hindsight, would you have done anything differently?
As far as advise from future brides; having done it twice everyone says enjoy the day but two things that worked for us was to allow a longer time from the ceremony finishing before sitting down to eat to allow time to mingle with your guests over a drink and some canapes and have photographs taken (we allowed 2 hours, and out in the sunshine too which was brilliant).  The second thing is if everything does not go exactly to plan don’t worry about it, my first wedding I stressed out over the balloons deflating but looking back it really didn’t matter.  As long as the two of you are there that’s all that really matters.
